The CMEH Foundation came about as a result of medical missions to Cambodia led by Elisa Hamill, RN, MSN, and Cheryl Melick, MD in 2013 and 2014. CMEH Foundation is a 501(c)3.
What began as an educational and philanthropical experience for both of us has blossomed into a real sense of mission. In 2013 we took our daughters to help broaden their experience of the world outside of the USA.
They were able to assist with non-medical duties so they had some responsibility…but the amazing part was how they both responded to the Cambodian people and their needs. They understood the necessity of helping others.
This blog is used primarily to record our day to day experiences during the annual two week mission to Cambodia. The Archive page link at the top if the homepage contains posts from previous missions if you’re interested in filling in the background.
We are now in the planning stages for our 2016 trip to Kratie, Cambodia – our 7th time! We are raising funds and looking for donations to cover the needed medical supplies, medicines as well as the cost of our translators and in country expenses. We are also looking for donations to support our sponsored student who is getting a PhD in Social Justice.
